About me

Dr. Donnie Kirk--a graduate of the University of North Texas—focused his undergraduate and master’s degree in Communication Studies. As a student of communication, Dr. Kirk LOVED all his communication studies courses. “Each communication course I enrolled in allowed participants to interact, discuss current events, and work on projects and presentations jointly…all while sharpening our communication skills. Such interaction not only made my education fun, but created a rich learning environment as well! And, I still use those skills I learned then today!” A PhD graduate in Training and Development at UNT, Dr. Kirk strives to replicate his UNT experiences in his own classrooms as well as in-service events. He currently teaches communication courses that emphasize skills in public speaking, interpersonal communication, argument and debate, and persuasion at Vernon College. In his facilitator role, Dr. Kirk's objective is to emphasize transference/relevance of new ideas into reality through the art of effective communication…
When not in front of a crowd, Dr. Kirk enjoys such individual sports as CrossFit, kayaking, bike riding and hiking….
