About me

I am an Assistant Professor of Art History at Texas A&M-Commerce. I'm currently working on a grant project with the THECB to create OER content for Art History CORE for ART 1303 and Art 1304.

I have a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Oklahoma with a specialization in Art of the American West.
My research explores how contemporary artists engage with iconography and notions of the “West” through the intersection of photography and film within a larger visual culture. Current projects focus on contemporary Native American artists and their reinterpretations of historical visual representations of the American West.

Prior to working at Texas A&M Commerce, I was the Curator of Photography at History Colorado in Denver and was the Director/Curator at the Great Plains Art Museum at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
