About San Jacinto College Open Books

The Open Books Program at San Jacinto College (SJC) is focused on "affordable learning" solutions for students. Open Books works with faculty to identify quality low or no cost resources for students, which allows them to focus on learning and not the expense of textbooks.  Through the partnership with OERTX, the faculty at SJC will have easy access to content to support this goal.

San Jacinto College Open Books Courses

San Jacinto College offers students the opportunity to complete the Associate of Arts in Business Transfer, the Associate of Arts or the Associate of Science in General Studies using only Open Books. In Open Books courses, which use only open educational resources (OER), students can save about 40% of their costs of attending college.
