This very robust initiative is our University's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). In an effort to ultimately impact academic success, it proposes to address issues and challenges related to the “whole student.” The plan proposes activities that directly engage students as soon as they express an interest in the university. It also proposes activities that support and empower students to matriculate beyond the first year and ultimately progress to graduation. The primary thrust of this plan includes targeted interventions during the initial months of enrollment designed to help students have a strong acclimation to the University from the onset. TSU has identified a topic through its ongoing comprehensive planning and evaluation processes, that include 14 key areas across campus ranging from Admissions, Financial Aid, Information Technology and Campus Engagement.

In Southwest Texas Junior College's 15/30/40+ Credit Hours Interventions, Success Coaches meet with students whom are seeking an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science when they meet key credit milestones. Success Coaches meet with each student to monitor student progress and plan future courses to keep students on track using student planning at each marker of 15/30/40+. Transfer pathways are also part of student planning. 15/30/40+ are markers for retention and completion. Once a student reaches the 40+ credit mark, the college's transfer team contacts each student to discuss graduation and transfer

Academic Coaching for Conditionally Admitted Students is a program developed for incoming students who do not meet admission criteria. We offer individual meetings with trained professional and peer academic coaches to support students in developing and implementing new approaches and strategies to avoid academic probation or suspension and continue enrollment beyond their first year. Academic coaches work with students to identifying goals, develop effective learning strategies, and create and monitor action plans for academic success.

The Academic Support Referral (ASR) acts as an early alert system which is designed to increase students' persistence and promote the development of the intellectual and affective domains to improve how students learn. The University of Houston, Clear Lake is committed to make certain that students, faculty and staff are aware of the educational and academic support programs offered to students and has implemented a retention program through the Academic Support Referral. This program is managed by the Student Success Center (SSC). I feel everyone at the university has a vested interest in student success.
The Academic Support Referral exemplifies how the University of Houston, Clear Lake is an academic community, in every sense of the word. We come together to support those who are in need of assistance and to support student learning.

The Academic Support Referral program allows faculty to be proactive and involved in assisting with the student retention efforts, through the early detection and intervention of students who are experiencing problems that may affect their academic performance.

Academic Support Referrals are for student(s) for which faculty has a concern(s) and/or do not feel that you as faculty can provide the additional out-of-class support the student may need. The Student Success Center will contact the student, share the faculty member's concern(s), and the SSC will provide recommendations. Students will receive an alert email once faculty submits an ASR due to the following concerns:
• Excessive absences
• Missing tests or assignments
• Failure to complete homework
• Classroom behavior
• Tardiness
• Low scores on tests/assignments/quizzes

After the request is sent, the Assistant Director of the Student Success Center will contact the student within 72business hours (the SSC will make multiple attempts to contact the student). In addition, the Student Success Center will notify you, the instructor, as well as the student on the plans we deem necessary to assist the student personally and/or academically.

The goal of "Advisors on the Loose" is to provide registration and advising information to students, with an objective of registering 80% of currently enrolled students for the subsequent term before the end of the current term. Once registration opens for the subsequent term, advisors begin "Advisors on the Loose." Advisors are provided an iPad. A registration lab is open while "Advisors on the Loose" is being conducted. Advisors, in pairs, go throughout the campus talking with students to inform them registration is open. Advisors are able to check student records by utilizing the iPad. They hand out a snack with registration lab information so students can go to the lab to register. Advisors are also able to connect with students by providing them quick advising information and providing them direction on how to connect with their assigned advisor.

One example of an event related to Alamo Institutes/Experiential Learning is the Dining Etiquette Luncheon. The Northeast Lakeview College, Career Engaged Learning Office supports career development and experiential learning by hosting the Dining Etiquette Luncheon.

Students are guided through a three-course meal with a formal place setting, while offered instruction on proper greetings, networking, contemporary etiquette, and the mechanics of formal dining.

This guided experience provides an opportunity for students to learn common protocols of dining etiquette, to enhance their professional image, helping to equip students with the social capital to navigate situations, in which knowledge of formal dining is essential, particularly during professional meetings and conferences.

The Career Engaged Learning Office works with faculty in the business and speech departments, in addition to the Office of Student Life, to promote this event to targeted groups of students. The targeted population for this event are students with pre-majors in the Business & Entrepreneurship Institute, students enrolled in the course, Business & Professional Communication, and members of the Male Excellence Network.

The learning outcome of the event is intended for students to report an increased confidence in professional networking and increased confidence in navigating a formal meal. Related to experiential learning, a reflective component allows students to elaborate on how they could apply the acquired knowledge in future career settings.

Transmountain ECHS/EPCC strive to encourage and recruit students in the target populations of At-Risk, students with disabilities, low socio-economic, Emergent Bilinguals (EB), minorities and historically under-served communities. Indeed El Paso ISD's and EPCC's demographics are well-represented in these areas. Campus Leadership Teams meet regularly to brainstorm, plan and implement strategies focused on recruiting target-population students. Additionally, TMECHS staff works with all district middle schools to ensure dissemination of open communication and accurate information to all students. TMECHS wants students to know that they all can, and should, apply to TMECHS and have the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree during high school.

Our program's core features include 1) proactively identifying students who have basic needs insecurities or are at risk of these insecurities, 2) connecting students to resources both on campus and off campus to minimize the effects of these insecurities, 3) communicating with students, faculty, and staff about the services offered to the students, 4) training faculty and staff on how to recognize and offer assistance to students who might be experiencing basic needs insecurities, 5) making the local community aware of the needs of our students, 6) reducing stigma around basic needs insecurities, and 7) engaging in activities and events around campus to give students a sense of connectedness and belonging. Our goals are 1) to strengthen and expand resources available to the students through collaborative partnerships, 2) to support students' social emotional, and academic needs with a focus on underserved students, and 3) to increase awareness and utilization of resources available to meet the basic needs. The objectives include 1) increasing the annual low socioeconomic FTIC persistence rate to 60%, 2) Increase the average low socioeconomic FTIC successful course completion rate to 70%, and 3) to reach 25% of FTIC students.

To meet the ongoing needs of our students, Kilgore College has professional counselors available for currently enrolled students seeking brief, solution-focused counseling as well as assistance with referrals to outside agencies/offices if longer-term counseling and/or services are needed. The CARE Program was designed to assist with academic difficulties by enhancing the learning experience of its students. CARE creates an academic support network focused on the individual needs of each student and provides strategic resources for students to make well-educated choices for the remainder of their educational career. The process involves identifying students who will be on probation, or who are currently on probation, with whom we can help get back on track via self-assessments, Success Agreements, meetings with the Retention Coordinator, and various prescribed agreements, such as professional tutoring, mentoring, and academic coaching.

The Connect Mentorship Program (known by students as Connect) is a year-long mentorship program aimed at retaining students of color at SMU. C.O.R.E. Coyote Orientation and Registration Experience

C.O.R.E. is required for FITC students or students that have been out of college 5+ years. Face to face attendance through one of the 10 offered dates is recommended, but an online option is available.

C.O.R.E. is an all day event that walks students through non-cognitive and career assessments, plan courses for first semester, make advising appointment, learn more about their pathway of choice, assign a faculty mentor, and take them to various resources on campus with speakers at each location, via a campus tour.

Cardinal Communities (CC) is a mentoring program that provides a supportive community in which students engage in meaningful relationships with fellow students, faculty, and staff that empower them to develop a sense of community and belonging and gain information to successfully transition to Lamar University. Career READY supports students who are interested in pursuing an experience in a field that typically does not offer pay. Through the Federal Work Study Experiment, students can be awarded pay amounts based on their unmet need. Students work at off campus locations in internships that align with their academic pursuits and they get paid as campus student workers for the semester of their internship experience. Students engage in all the same training and requirements of being an on campus student employee, and they benefit from their off campus training and requirements at their internship site. Students apply for the program via Handshake Experiences where we connect with their site supervisors about their internship experience and provide student and site evaluations. While this program is open to all students who are federal work study eligible, we encourage all students to check with student financial aid about the opportunity to become eligible. We have had 47 students successfully complete the program since spring of 2021, with over $279,000 awarded! Students share that this opportunity allowed them to focus more on their courses and internship experience because they didn’t have to get an extra job to make ends meet. Additionally, a large number of participants have been Education majors, who traditionally work full-time at clinical teaching sites without pay. This program has made a huge difference and impact on them so they could successfully complete their degrees without the stress of limited to no income, or taking out additional student loans.

PRELIMINARY OUTCOMES DATA: In 2021, 23 employers participated in the program. After participating, over 90% of students and employers agreed that they would continue in part-time or full-time employment if given the chance.

The University of Texas at Tyler’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CTEL) is dedicated to supporting the best practices in teaching and learning throughout the university.
The CTEL strives to enhance lifelong learning and provide high quality professional development to facilitate the development of new skills and discipline knowledge for faculty and, in turn, enhance the academic success of UT Tyler’s students. One way the CTEL works to achieve these goals is by providing faculty with professional learning communities. Professional Learning Communities (PLC) allow faculty and professional staff to come together to grapple with issues and concerns in targeted areas focused on student success. Faculty not only participate in these communities but design them as well. The CTEL is currently hosting six PLCs: 1) Academic Innovation, 2) Global Awareness & Diversity, 3) Service Learning, 4) Student Research, 5) Work-Life Balance, and 6) The Study of Student Writing.
