TAMUC Scholars program offers faculty mentorship/advising for any degree that the university offers as an incoming freshman student. Students will have access to tutors, cultural events (on and off campus), opportunities for research and career coaching from our faculty and staff, and a pathway to continue to graduate programs in the College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) through our 4+1-degree and traditional graduate programs.

The Service-Learning Faculty Fellowship program provides an intentional professional development opportunity for faculty members interested in service-learning. The practical and theoretical underpinnings of service-learning are emphasized through three workshops during the fall. Faculty members then apply these principles by teaching a service-learning course of their design in the spring semester. Three spring discussions provide structured support for troubleshooting challenges and ensuring quality. Benefits include a stipend, a course release (when possible), recognition by university leadership, and evidence of teaching excellence to support promotion and tenure applications.

The Texas A&M University-Kingsville University Success course prepares first-year students to succeed academically and professionally. The course brings students together in a unified learning community that not only facilitates their transition into college, but gives them the tools necessary to work efficiently toward graduation and on to their chosen career path. It utilizes active learning strategies to train the students how to organize and recall crucial information, apply that knowledge toward success in the classroom, and grow into engaged citizens who are capable of achieving significant long-term goals.
The curriculum targets topics such as: Degree Planning, Time Management, Formal Academic Writing, Group Projects, Financial Literacy, and Utilizing Campus Resources.
