The Rainy Day Savings Program is designed to help students set aside $500+ within one academic year for a financial emergency. Students open a savings account at our partner credit union and earn up to $100 in cash deposits for doing things like completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meeting with a financial coach. Money in the account can be used for a financial emergency as defined by the individual student. The account is intended to be an easy-to-access quick source of cash when a student experiences a financial emergency. Besides being prepared for a financial emergency, students gain first-hand experience managing a bank account, setting savings goals, and budgeting. The program is open to degree-seeking students enrolled in 6+ credit hours in the semester of program application and who intend to enroll in 6+ credit hours in the subsequent semester. Targeted outreach is conducted to engage students who are Pell and work-study eligible (however, eligiblity for these two forms of financial aid is not a requirement of participation).

DELIVERY FORMAT: The program is online only.

The Rice Emerging Scholars Program (RESP) is an innovative, residential academic program designed to help first-year students prepare for the challenging pace, depth, and rigor of the STEM curricula at Rice. Unique among programs of its kind at highly selective institutions, RESP's approach to college transition and success is comprehensive, combining a rigorous six-week academic summer bridge program with personalized and holistic mentoring and support for the duration of the college experience.

RESP's mission is to ensure that students of high potential who attended under-resourced high schools, particularly low-income and first-generation students, persist, thrive, and graduate at the same rate as their peers, and that these students achieve their academic and professional aspirations as scientists and engineers.

RESP is designed to ensure that students who would most benefit from the program are not excluded due to cost. Accordingly, RESP Scholars attend the summer program at no cost and receive a stipend for their participation. They also enjoy a personalized array of mentoring and support services throughout their time at Rice.

In fulfilling its charge to help these students meet all the challenges they face, RESP comprehensively addresses their particular academic and navigational needs together with other challenges unique to students from underserved communities. And RESP stands with them from before they matriculate until after they graduate -- this is what it means to provide an environment in which students may "thrive."

The Tarrant To & Through (T3) Partnership commits to: 1) Supporting your student on their journey to graduate high school; 2) Helping them create a customized plan for life after high school; 3) Ensuring they complete a degree or credential to attain a meaningful career and living-wage job. When your student takes the T3 Pledge, we'll help them build a customized plan focused on life after high school called a "Postsecondary Success Plan". If eligible, your student will have access to a variety of supports such as: A T3 Last Dollar Scholarship covers any remaining tuition costs after all Pell grants and/or other federal, state, or institutional aid have been applied. In other words, last dollar scholarships cover the gap -- any last dollars needed to cover the student's tuition. The UTA and T3 partnership serves Fort Worth ISD students by offering personalized guidance and programming throughout high school into college, helping students achieve a world class degree. Become a T3 Scholar by completing the T3 Partnership Pledge by the T3 pledge deadline of your senior year of high school. In January 2021, the University of Texas at Arlington launched the eLearning Transformational Model (eLearning TM) program to build the foundation for sustainable and scalable transformation into a dynamic, digitally enhanced and responsive university. UTA’s eLearning TM efforts align to provide exceptional contribution to the Building a Talent Strong Texas plan, specifically in areas of increasing attainment of postsecondary credentials for adult learners and streamlining student academic and career pathways through innovative course and program redesign and enhanced support services that lead to increased credentials of value.

The eLearning TM team utilized a structured, holistic approach to supporting the implementation of a set of six short-term micro-credential (certificate) programs in high-demand employment areas (health informatics, diversity and inclusion in business, logistics engineering, military social work, and learning technologies) designed for adult learners. The 90+ members of the cross-campus eLearning team coordinated to launch these certificate programs and simultaneously identified a need for and launched eight parallel projects to provide robust and high-quality course and faculty development; offer flexible teaching and learning options through modernized technology and facilities; deliver enhanced market analysis to programs for recruitment; harness data for targeted support of learners across instructional modalities to close achievement and equity gaps.

lifePATH’s vision is to foster belonging and a diverse community where neurodiverse students have equitable opportunities for academic, social, and career growth.

Students in lifePATH develop independence, exercise self-determination, increase knowledge of college-level academic expectations, practice the social expectations necessary for success in the adult world, and engage in opportunities for career exploration.

lifePATH students are selected as part of a cohort model. Students enter the program together as a peer group and remain together for at least two years. The cohort provides students with the structure and support needed to increase independence and social interactions. The cohort model also promotes community and a sense of belonging.

Students in lifePATH participate in Campus RAMP and community internships, where they bring skills learned in the classroom into the work environment. Beginning in year 2, Campus RAMP focuses on mentoring and job shadowing activities. In year 4, the community internship provides community-based work experience that allows students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the lifePATH courses and the Campus RAMP to the business environment. Mentors for Campus RAMP and sites for the community internship are selected through a collaborative process and are meant to help students establish transferable skills that can be applied to their career goals.
