As a student success-driven institution, Coastal Bend College (CBC) offers many programs to help all students become college ready as efficiently and timely as possible. Collaborative teaching, accelerated courses, corequisites, and a faculty/student success teams are crucial to creating the encouraging and supportive learning environment that fosters a sense of learning autonomy and self-efficacy for students. CBC believes in providing the resources needed so that all students may accomplish their goals.

New Student Orientation is a program designed to help incoming students make the transition to college life. It provides a welcoming atmosphere for new students (in-person and virtual), introducing them to the campus, faculty, and staff. The program focuses on fostering a sense of community, building connections between students, and providing information about campus resources. It also serves as an introduction to the academic and social expectations of college life. The target population for New Student Orientation is incoming first-year students.
