Learn About Hubs & Groups on OERTX

    Overview

Learn more about how to create and use Hubs and groups on OERTX.

    Groups

    What is a group?

Groups are created by OERTX members to collaborate and share educational resources. When a group is created, members can comment, add, and share resources within the group environment.

    Who can create a group?

Any OERTX user can create a group by navigating to the Groups page and clicking the "Create a Group" button.

    Who can join a group?

There are two types of groups. In open groups, any user of OERTX can join by requesting access on the individual group page, which will be granted automatically. In restricted groups, the group creator and anyone designated as a group administrator can approve OERTX users who request to join from the group page. Group creators can choose  the group type from within their administrator settings panel.

Where can I see existing groups on OERTX?

You can find all the currently active groups on OERTX on the Groups page

Where can I learn more about groups?

    Hubs

    What is a Hub?

A Hub is a custom resource center on OERTX where a network of users can create and share collections, administer groups, and share news and events associated with a project or organization.

Projects, districts, states and initiatives make use of Hubs to bring groups of educators together to create, organize, and share open educational resource (OER) collections that meet their common goals.

    Who can create a Hub?

Hubs must be created by the OERTX administrator. If your organization or institution is interested in developing on OERTX Hub, please contact OERTX@highered.texas.gov. An OERTX administrator will discuss the Hub creation process with you and help you to decide how an OERTX Hub can best serve your needs.
