The Advising and Career Experience (ACE) Center is a structural and programmatic merger between the existing academic advising and career development offices. The ACE Center is devoted to increasing equitable student success outcomes through an intentional and cohesive academic advising and career experience. The ACE Center reimagined the College Experience Coach (CEC) who will be responsible for helping students shape their professional college experience from orientation to graduation and beyond. The highlights of this new position will be to coach first-time college students during their first year, bridging their values and interests to program relevance and professional goals. This position will be cross trained as an academic advisor to improve the connection between career and academic planning. The CEC will also take on a caseload of graduating final semester seniors and provide coordinated programming to prepare them for personal and professional success beyond graduation.

Achieving Completion through Innovation Vision and Team Engagement (ACTIVATE) is a program especially designed for men of color at Texarkana College (TC). ACTIVATE will serve 10-12 students each year with the goal of matriculation at TC. Students in ACTIVATE will be a part of a cohort that seeks to equip them with the necessary skills to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom. ACTIVATE includes mentoring, community engagement, financial literacy training, leadership development, weekly meetings, materials for instruction, and a stipend scholarship. ACTIVATE participants have the opportunity to build communication and relationship skills through peer mentoring and collaboration with Texas A&M University-Texarkana Personal Achievement through Help (PATH) program participants.

The Academic Center for Excellence provides assistance to students who need or desire additional academic support with their courses.

The tutors working in ACE are ETBU students who excel academically in their studies. They are committed to assisting any student by empowering them with the skills needed to become a successful student.

The ACE Lab offers one-on-one and group tutoring sessions free of charge to all students enrolled at East Texas Baptist University. Our tutoring focuses on general education and gateway courses, and we offer help in all of our courses fitting that description.

ETBU's ACE Lab is a Level I CRLA certified program that trains tutors in accordance with best practices in the field.

Academic coaches at ETBU work with students to help hold them accountable for all things academics. Our coaches help students develop study skills, good study habits, and continually assess the current academic status of our students. Coaches also help advise students with course scheduling, changing majors, and overall academic development. Academic coaching typically takes place once a week, with students working with the same academic coach throughout the semester (and, oftentimes, over the course of several semesters). Academic coaches discuss a student's current grades, attendance, and missing assignments during each session, and help students in setting up contact with instructors/professors when needed.

Achievement Initiative for Minority Males (AIMM)

Core features/target population
In Fall 2016, A&M-SA enrolled a cohort of 171 males of color, of which only 34, or 20%, graduated within 5 years, dovetailing national trends of lower minority male enrollment and graduation in higher education. As a result, the University launched AIMM in Fall 2021, a year-long program to increase the retention, graduation, engagement, and overall success of ethnic minority males on campus.

Participants are expected to increase their knowledge and skills in: time management, academic and leadership development, personal and professional branding, mental and physical health, financial literacy, and civic responsibility. AIMM's holistic approach cultivates a sense of belonging for participants, thus increasing their chances for educational success and future quality of life.

Goals and objectives
Learning Outcomes:
1. By actively participating in A.I.M.M., students will enhance their professional skills through public speaking, resume development, and personal branding.
2. As an A.I.M.M. participant, students will foster mentoring relationships with A&M-SA faculty and staff that contribute to their personal, academic, and professional development as student leaders.
3. A.I.M.M. identifies and utilizes academic-related resources and tools to support its member's academic performance in the classroom.
4. A.I.M.M. provides opportunities for participants to connect with campus resources, students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the San Antonio community by providing a holistic approach cultivating a sense of belonging.
5. Participating in service-learning projects, A.I.M.M. participants will recognize the importance of community service and civic responsibility through personal involvement and municipal engagement with A&M-SA and the San Antonio community.
A.I.M.M. participants will participate in initiatives to improve their health holistically. This includes but is not limited to students' physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health and well-being.
7. As an A.I.M.M. participant, students will enter into a brotherhood bound by shared values, principles, attitudes, and beliefs.
8. A.I.M.M. will promote positive self-identity development by creating safe spaces for students to examine their own experiences and identities and to allow them to express it freely.

The Action Network for Equitable Wellbeing (ANEW) Action Lab is a cohort-based opportunity for institutions to identify and address gaps in wellbeing and flourishing among historically marginalized student groups. Alvin Community College is the first community college to participate in this exciting work facilitated by New York University, which is focused on addressing inequities to improve student retention and success.

The Action Lab focuses on laying the founding by equipping colleges and universities with tools to:
• Build an understanding of the norms, processes, and structures that perpetuate inequities in wellbeing for a specific group of students
• Establish and/or deepen collaboration across campus and with students with lived experience
• Develop an initial theory of change
• Pilot 1-3 specific concrete actions and generate learnings to inform scale and spread

• Create a path forward to continue the work upon the conclusion of the Action Lab

At the Alamo Colleges District and Northeast Lakeview College, we support students with well-paid, student employment opportunities and internships. The Career Engaged Learning Office guides students in applying for these positions, as well as supporting their career development through this experiential learning opportunity.

These part-time positions employ students for approximately 19 hours per week at the pay rate of $15.33 per hour (effective 9/1/2023). Our District offers students, employment opportunities for:

The Career Engaged Learning Office (CELO) assists students in searching for student employment, guiding them in the submission of their application materials, and preparing for an interview. Once hired, members of the career team offer an orientation and training to new student employees, to guide them in their professional development, as they begin gaining valuable work experience through student employment.

Amarillo College's Advocacy & Resource Center (ARC) was established to provide students with a centralized location to access resources that can assist in meeting students' basic needs. Social Workers are available to work with Amarillo College staff, faculty and community members to assist in removing barriers that prevent students from obtaining success. Through the ARC, students can access the Social Services Program which provides access to internal and external resources to ensure that student's needs are addressed appropriately. Emergency Aid is also available to students who meet the qualification requirements of the college's No Excuses Fund. Students are also able to inquire about scholarships that can help them meet their academic, childcare, and transportation needs. Last but not least, Amarillo College students are able to visit one of five campus food pantries that not only provides access to food but hygiene and baby resources as well.

The Athletic Cohort Advising Model was developed to increase success, retention, and graduation rates among athletes. Each athletic group is assigned an academic advisor who will work with them from admissions to graduation. The academic advisor works closely with admissions, financial aid, student life, scholarship office, athletic coaching staff, and faculty. The advising model includes grade/attendance checks, advising check-ins, completion of a career inventory, declared pathway, and transfer information. The objectives include students will declare a pathway major during the first semester of attendance, students will earn 24-30 hours of credit during first year, students will be informed on career pathway regarding education, salary, and job expectancy, and students will earn a degree within 5 semesters.

Best Achievement Strategies for College (BASC) is a system-wide, university orientation course created to encourage traditional and non-traditional students to persist to degree completion. The class focuses on three elements: the development of a growth mindset, the early identification of a major and career, and the hands-on involvement in service learning. BASC is offered face-to-face on the residential campus, each external campus and online, each with a slightly different student population. The course is designed to assist and empower first-year learners with strategies and information to support the successful launch of their college career. Faculty from each academic school on the Plainview campus offer discipline-specific sections of the course, allowing students to make connections with faculty in their primary area of study while receiving information and success strategies specific to that major and profession. Throughout the semester, students learn about growth mindset, and receive information about student services, the writing center, the library, tutoring, and health and wellness, as well as strategies such as time and financial management, study skills, note taking, and learning styles. Students explore their interests, skills, and career goals upon choosing a major and are assisted one-on-one with registering for classes for their second semester. Members of the BASC course also participate in a service-learning project that ties discipline-specific activities to community service. The Best Academic Strategies for College (BASC) course is designed to make the transition to college a little less stressful by making information, strategies, and services readily available.

Experiential learning is a key component of the St. Edward's University undergraduate education. This type of learning engages students outside of the classroom to broaden and deepen their awareness of societal problems and participate in community-based activities that address these issues. There are two types of experiential learning: Introductory Experiential Learning, which exposes students to foundational experiential learning opportunities beyond the classroom and Advanced Experiential Learning (AEL) which provides more robust and meaningful experiential learning opportunities with additional engagement required of the student in both time and effort.

As articulated in Strategic Plan 2027, 100% of undergraduate students will complete at least one AEL opportunity before graduation. To support this goal over five years, constructing definitions of experiential learning areas and establishing clear criteria for advanced experiential learning across the university is key to overall success. As a result, St. Edward's has developed five definitions for AEL: Internships and Field Experience, Research and Creative Works with Faculty, Immersive Domestic and International Travel Experiences, Service-Learning, Volunteering, and Student Employment/Leadership on and off campus.

To achieve rigor through time and effort, an AEL opportunity must meet all of the following criteria, 1) Quantitative - 60 clock hours within a semester 2) Intentional - The experience should be purposeful, planned in advance with explicit goals and intended outcomes, 3) Beneficial - Support students' interests, career readiness, and aspirations, and 4) Supervised - The experience should be supervised, including ongoing faculty, staff, supervisor and/or community involvement in all phases.

The Blue & Gold Scholar program recognizes St. Edward's University undergraduate student participation in advanced experiential learning opportunities. There are three types of scholars, 1) Blue Scholars complete one AEL opportunity, 2) Gold Scholars complete two advanced experiential learning opportunities, and 3) Blue and Gold Scholars complete 3 or more AEL opportunities.

Building Bridges to Success (BBS) is part of the nationwide TRIO Student Support Services program funded by the Department of
Education. The BBS program at Galveston College is designed to provide academic and student support services for approximately
206 first-generation, low-income students, and students with disabilities. The goals of BBS are to increase student retention in classes,

The purposes of Capitalizing on Scorpion Assets are the following:
1. Implement new customer relations management and early alert systems
2. To facilitate students' access to basic needs through campus services and community-based organizations, which will be centrally hosted, so students have direct access to wraparound supports
3. To facilitate more student and faculty engagement and interaction, a student area will be converted into a student-faculty engagement center so students can signal when they need assistance

These service are open to all students at Texas Southmost College.

DELIVERY FORMAT: The program is in-person only.

PROGRAM SCALE: Large-scale (reaches more than 25 percent of its intended target population)

PROGRAM OUTCOMES: 62% of the students who participated in the supplemental instruction passed their coursework.

At the heart of The Cardinal Advocacy and Resource Center is the conviction that education is a basic human right, essential to a thriving democracy. We recognize that to support our students through completion, students often need assistance outside of the classroom. Affording students the tools to reduce basic needs insecurity and learn to advocate for themselves is a priority at the CARC. Available to all students enrolled in at least 3 hours, the CARC is more than just a food and clothing pantry. Equitable access to basic needs includes assistance for, but not limited to, transportation, child-care, housing, food, technology, and emergency funding. Holistic support is also available to meet students where they area. We work to ensure students basic needs are met so they can focus on their academic success. Learning to be an advocate for themselves is another important function of the CARC. To that end, we provide students with an updated and comprehensive resource guide to allow students to easily locate and find services at the time they need it.

The NLC Career Fair supports post-completion goals by connecting students with employers. Students can practice networking in a professional setting and learn about part-time, full-time, and internship opportunities. Additionally, students are exposed to a variety of employers and can learn about area industries and local employers, market conditions related to their area of study, and desirable skills that employers want in graduates.
