ABOUT OPEN TEXAS 2024

On November 15, 2023, the Open Texas 2024 Steering Committee hosted a webinar, OER Horizons in Texas. The webinar announced the return of the Open Texas Conference in September 2024, introduced the Conference Co-Chairs and Committee Chairs, and shared an opportunity for the open community in Texas to get involved in the conference. Additionally, it featured an inspiring presentation on the horizons of open education in Texas from Daniel Williamson, Managing Director of OpenStax.

If you missed the webinar, a full recording is available at the link below:

OT 2024 will take place September 25-27, 2024, and will be a fully virtual conference. It is free to attend.

The 2024 Open Texas conference is jointly organized by Texas Digital Library (TDL) and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), to convene librarians, faculty, administrators, and other open education practitioners, researchers, and advocates in Texas.

We are pleased to share that Dr. Tonja Conerly, Distinguished Faculty of Sociology at San Jacinto College, and Niki Whiteside, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Instructional Innovation and Support at San Jacinto College will serve as the 2024 Conference Co-Chairs.
