The Shaping You To Get Hired program aims to improve students' job readiness for the attainment of gainful employment upon graduation. In an effort to meet this institutional endeavor, the college integrated employability skills into program curricula and integrated career-focused, experimental activities into technical curricula. This involves content embedded into the TSTC 1102 first-year seminar course, skills taught throughout technical programs, and an Interview Practicum in a student's last semester of their program.

A Learning Management System is in place in the TSTC 1102 first-year seminar course, designed to cultivate students’ employability skills through pre-& post assessments, highly interactive online lessons, direct instruction, and relevant activities for demonstration and application of skills. The career-focused activities in the technical curricula involve the Career Service Department presenting to students with Resume and Interview/Professionalism workshops in preparation for mock interviews called the Interview Practicum.
This LMS targets ten core professional skills as learning outcomes: Interpersonal Skills, Employment Basics, Communication Skills, Conflict Resolution, Teamwork, Productivity, Dependability and Reliability, Flexibility and Adaptability, Planning and Organizing, and Initiative.

Students are also taught professional skills throughout their technical programs. During the students last semester of their program, students will engage in a Interview Practicum which is three rounds of mock interviews.

• Greater accessibility to their program of choice: course content is available in an online or hybrid format and students can set their own schedule within the semester.
• Potential of cost savings by virtue of a tuition-free subscription rate: in this program, the more classes a student moves through, the lower the cost

• Self-guided course completion: train around the student's schedule and goals using TSTC's pacing tool as a guideline.
