The primary goal of the TRiO SSS program is to give our students every possible tool to express their full potential here at FPC and beyond. We offer a variety of services aimed at increasing students' chances of success, including (but not limited to) academic advising, tutoring, financial literacy education, assistance in filing for scholarships and financial aid, peer mentoring, career and transfer assistance, and grant aid for qualifying students.

DELIVERY FORMAT: The program has a hybrid format or has both online and in-person components.

PROGRAM SCALE: Medium-scale (reaches between 10 and 25 percent of its target population)

SI is a peer-led, academic assistance program that can significantly improve performance for students who attend regularly. Students who attend 10 or more sessions throughout the semester have statistically been shown to earn half to a full letter grade higher than those students who do not attend.

The SI program at Texas A&M University started in 1992. The Texas A&M University SI program was named as the SI program of the year in 2004. We host the bi-annual regional conference on Supplemental Instruction. Some of our SI Leader training materials have been adopted by the International Center for Supplemental Instruction. The SI program has received its accreditation by International Center for Supplemental Instruction at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2019.

DELIVERY FORMAT: The program has a hybrid format or has both online and in-person components.

PROGRAM SCALE: Large-scale (reaches more than 25 percent of its intended target population)

PROGRAM OUTCOMES: Each semester, we track student attendance and compare final course grades of students who frequently attend SI during the semester (10 or more sessions attended) with students in targeted courses who did not attend SI. On average students who attend frequently will earn a final course grade that is one-half to one full letter grade higher than students who do not attend SI sessions.

Success Coaching strives to assist our diverse student population in reaching their individual academic goals by providing resources and ensuring equality for all students to achieve their goals and fulfill their potential.

The three interrelated goals of the Success Coaching Program are (1) to help students to develop a clear vision of their own goals, (2) to assist students in developing skills related to academic success, such as study skills, time management, and self-efficacy, and (3) to connect them to other college resources and support personnel as needed.

As a result of participating in the Success Coaching Program, students will have increased self-regulation skills, executive functioning skills, efficacy, and be more self-directed leaners.

Success coaching is available to all Victoria College students, but we target our first time in college (FTIC) students, students on academic warning, academic probation, or academic suspension, student athletes, and students on financial aid appeals.

The data that is provided in this survey only represents our FTIC students participating in Success Coaching. Success Coaching began in 2018, but including all FTIC students began Fall 2021.

DELIVERY FORMAT: The program has a hybrid format or has both online and in-person components.

PROGRAM SCALE: Large-scale (reaches more than 25 percent of its intended target population)

Organizational Overview
UNT Dallas's mission is to transform the lives of our students by empowering them with the resources they need for success. UNT Dallas has a unique focus on serving under-resourced students in metro Dallas, becoming a pathway to the middle class for thousands of area students. Our core competence is preparing local students for high-need jobs in North Texas.

Program Overview
The Trailblazer Elite program (TBE) promotes student retention and ensures students successfully graduate from college. The program is designed to increase student retention, graduation rates in a timely manner, and career attainment. Traditionally, the TBE program has focused on first-generation college students. We teach students how to develop a support network that will help them navigate through their college journey and life.

Program Goals & Objectives
The TBE program is designed to build supportive and trusting relationships, provide academic support, and prepare students for a successful college transition for non-traditional students. In order to be successful, students must have a sufficient amount of interaction with faculty and staff on campus.

DELIVERY FORMAT: The program has a hybrid format or has both online and in-person components.

PROGRAM SCALE: Medium-scale (reaches between 10 and 25 percent of its target population)

PROGRAM OUTCOMES: Trailblazer Elite students benefit from leadership development, academic enrichment, mentorship, networking, and priority access to student support services. Programmatic touch-points, metrics, and early alerts increase student success, retention, graduation rates, and career attainment.
Of those selected to participate in the first cohort, 95% were retained from Fall 2020 to Fall 2021. 86% were retained from Fall 2021 to Fall 2022.
Compared to similar students outside the program, the Trailblazer Elite students: (1) had higher retention rates; (2) 84% are in good standing with the university; and (3) are 80% more engaged with the university.

The Enhanced Culture of Tutoring project will build an innovative campus-wide culture of tutoring through which all undergraduate students understand the academic gains that can be achieved through targeted academic improvement. Our approach centers on the primary focus area of developing Academic Supports by reinforcing our existing traditional tutoring services by 1) adopting an engaging, flexible, remote, on-demand, app-based tutoring format; 2) expanding course-based weekly group tutoring; and 3) developing faculty advocacy for the vital role that out-of-class tutoring plays in the success of their students.

Establishing a culture of tutoring at UH through this three-pronged approach will ensure sustainability of the cultural shift and accelerate persistence and success in key courses, leading to measurably increased retention and graduation rates.

The purpose of the UTSA Thrive program is to enhance support and advocacy for underserved populations (first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and students of color) by developing a thriving student framework and strengthening the integration of support services across multiple student success units on campus.

Higher education institutions commonly use persistence, retention, and graduation rates to measure student success which does not provide a complete picture of student thriving. The University Leadership Network is a data-driven research-informed strategic program within the departments of Undergraduate Equity and Excellence that utilizes a holistic approach to serving students. Based on the core functions of building community, developing leadership skills, career readiness via experiential learning and financial literacy. ULN sets ambitious goals for its students and helps prepare them for life beyond graduation.

Over the course of four years, students earn incentive-based awards up to $20,000 ($5,000/yr) by completing programmatic milestones like maintaining full-time enrollment status, participating in experiential learning opportunities and leadership/professional development curriculum. Incentive-based awards have two main goals: to provide students with additional financial support to reduce financial need and to provide incentives for academic progress. The University Leadership Network selects 350 to 400 high-achieving students each academic year to participate in the program. Selection is based on FAFSA documentation utilizing the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC).

Analyses of the efficacy of ULN shows that participation in ULN significantly improves retention and graduation rates. These outcomes demonstrate how ULN is an innovative and effective intervention for postsecondary student success. Over the past 9 years, ULN continuously achieved positive outcomes as a result of the intentional programming and personalized support offered by staff members.

The Division of Student Affairs is utilizing Implementation Grant to employ a redesign of how learning and engagement opportunities for
students are achieved. The redesign is modeled on the Curricular Approach to Student Affairs work. A curricular approach is an increasingly popular method of organizing out-of-classroom learning and engagement experiences for college students. The approach entails the development of learning objectives and then sequencing and scaffolding designed learning experiences to achieve these objectives. Through this focus on student learning and throughout the design process, formative and summative assessment measures are more easily identified, designed, and analyzed to allow for overall
curriculum review, improvement, and advancement. With the assistance of the ASSI Planning Grant, the planning work has already begun and we are excited to develop and launch the curriculum at West Texas A&M

The Warhawk Success Center will use historical student success data to develop an index to identify those students who are more likely to need success coaching and wrap around support. This will allow us to calibrate the proactive care provided by success coaches, focusing their efforts on the students who are most likely to need it.
The majority of our students have only a vague notion of how the college classes they are taking connect to the career choices they will eventually make. This contributes to poor engagement with faculty and coursework, leading to students dropping out of college. We will clarify and strengthen the connection between academic pursuits and career readiness by adding the Office of Experiential Learning and Career Planning. Engaging students in activities outside the classroom is a high impact practice contributing to the development of critical skill sets boosting success in the classroom and improving the transition to postgraduate study and careers. The War Hawk Flight Plan provides a discipline-specific road map that guides students to key experiential learning opportunities promoting critical 21st Century Career Skills. We offer free writing support to TAMUK students, faculty, and staff. Accomplished graduate and undergraduate students make up our staff of dedicated tutors. We work with writers through all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming and organizing to revising and polishing. While face-to-face, in-person appointments are the ideal way to experience our services, students (especially distance learners) can also make online appointments.

At the University Writing Center (UWC), we believe writing is more than just a tool. It is a skill every citizen needs, and a craft every student should hone. Our challenge as peer Writing Consultants is to collaboratively assist fellow writers in all stages of the writing process, from generating ideas to editing and proofreading. We meet each writer where she or he is, with respect for individual learning styles. We share with fellow writers the tools necessary to improve her or his writing process, while fostering interactions between peer learners that benefit both the writer and the writing consultant. At the UWC, everyone is a valued colleague in our culture of writing.
